BT New Jersey was honored to participate in the BT New York office's hosting of Jonathan Conyers, a co-founder of the Brooklyn Debate League. Members of our office tuned in virtually and in person to listen to Jonathan's life story and hear what led him to ultimately be involved in BDL, an organization that provides accessible speech and debate programming to kids in New York City. So many events, and I'm incredibly thankful for each one. Catching up on posts, and I'm thrilled to share this particular one. Barnes & Thornburg, thank you so much for having me and for supporting me on my journey. It's a personal passion of mine to speak at top law firms like yours, sharing not only my story but also the stories of the kids through my nonprofit and addressing the pressing issues our world is facing in a safe space. I firmly believe that progress requires dialogue and serious conversations about topics that many shy away from. Speaking at your wonderful office and knowing that hundreds of lawyers from your 23 offices across America were tuning in virtually was a dream come true. Apologies for my tie 😂😂 My passion and my animated movements had my tie looking a bit crazy. My homeless friend from my memoir (if you know, you know) wouldn't have been proud of me in that moment. Again, I'm incredibly thankful to have ended Black History Month on a high note and to have had the opportunity to share my story.
